Medical Reporting and Billing Software
Reviews and Ratings

Almost all medical practice management software packages contain a reporting module.  How well it works for you depends not only on the system, but on the needs of your practice or facility. Are your reports and transmissions HIPAA, NPI, and PQRI compliant, and do they offer HL7 and DICOM connectivity standards?  How easy is it to design custom reports when you need them? Does your report writer report writer need to integrate with both accounting records and patient records?  Does it need to query major databases in order to generate data for reports? Does it need to send reports to government regulatory agencies in a specific format, or on preprinted forms? How difficult or easy is the training to use the system?

Sometimes these functions are best covered when integrated with other EMR and accounting functions, and sometimes are better monitored on a stand-alone basis: only your organization can judge what works best for your needs.  The many excellent medical practice management and documentation packages all offer different degrees of integration of critical functions with their report writing functions. How can you evaluate them intelligently?
