Microsoft Business Solutions - Axapta Edition (Axapta), version 3, is powerful, Java based, Object Oriented, web-enabled e-commerce ERP with a choice of databases between Oracle 9i and MS SQL Server 2000. Windows 2000 is the preferred server. Win 98, Win 2000 and XP are supported as clients.

Functionally, this product is very strong for companies who need multilocation support, multicurrency/Multilanguage (e.g. send invoices in different languages) and project management among other things. Microsoft is putting heavy emphasis on Axaapta as a key strategic product.

Microsoft Axapta is designed to scale easily. You can add users, additional locations and enhanced capabilities whenever you need them. Microsoft Axapta uses Axapta Object Servers, which can be clustered to allow load-balancing and rapid scalability. Just add more servers to the cluster when more capacity is needed. Since all users, locations, and processes are run off one database, maintenance and upgrading is usually easier and less expensive compared to distributed systems.
