Builder Information System Software Overview Builder Information System (BIS) is construction specific accounting software designed for general contractors and subcontractors. BIS is developed by Management Information Control Systems, Inc. (MICS), which has been producing construction specific accounting software since 1983. Currently, BIS is available in four editions, Essential, Standard, Professional and Enterprise, has 18 modules and up to 3,000 report variations. This full range of products allows BIS to meet the needs of just about every contractor and makes the system quite scalable; contractors has start with a limited edition and upgrade to a more robust version when needed. BIS system strengths are its scalability, jobs dashboard, equipment management capabilities, reporting functions and multi-company setup options. It also offers good document management features and templates that streamline common communications with vendors, employees and customers. It should be noted that BIS does not offer a service dispatching module at this time.
