The scalable, modular structure of ComputerEase makes it a good fit for companies of all sizes and specialties, although this product is ideally suited to general and specialty contractors with up to $20M in annual volume. In addition to its construction accounting, job costing and project management capabilities, ComputerEase offers job costing, equipment, purchasing, service and electronic document management solutions. ComputerEase is sold through a network of dealerships and is used by more than 6,000 contractors nationwide. The product can integrate with many third party software systems, including estimating software, remote time keeping systems, scale systems, bar code readers, Create-A-Check and pricing services. ComputerEase strengths include built-in project management and scheduling functions, strong construction-specific payroll features and remote field entry options, such as electronic timesheets. ComputerEase does have some shortcomings: A cumbersome process is required to transfer costs between jobs, the custom report writer is difficult to use, the system offers a limited number of standard reports and it has a very weak bank reconciliation function.
