The product’s focus has always been to offer a user-friendly solution to small-to-medium sized manufacturers. The product has now reached a base of 6,000 installed sites in over 45 countries, making it one of the most installed manufacturing solutions in the world. MISys can operate as a stand-alone product
or integrated with Computer Associates’ ACCPAC for Windows
accounting, distribution, HR, e-commerce, and eCRM modules to
form a completely integrated Enterprise solution. The checklist
in this program contains features for the ACCPAC modules, where
appropriate, although users who are interested in a fully integrated
system should look fully at the ACCPAC modules in addition to
the MISys product. MISys/2000 is developed using the SDK tools of Computer Associates, written in 32 bit C, with screen sets designed using Visual Basic. The product uses CA’s ACCPAC for Windows System Manager, which provides central administration of security (full-featured), utilities, database maintenance and language, currency and tax management. The system utilizes either Pervasive2000 SQL or MS-SQL as the database manager, and can run on NT or Novell operating systems. The database software must be purchased separately. Level 1 (Inventory) is the core module for MISys, which includes the set-up options for accounts, field structures and formats, and integration details. Also included are master files for locations, items, BOM's, suppliers, and jobs.
