NetSuite, Inc. has been well known for its cloud-based financial accounting and ERP software solutions for a number of years, especially for its support of light manufacturing with assembly-to-stock or order of single-level bills of materials (AKA kit). In 2010, NetSuite began to beef up its manufacturing software offerings. Today, the company's NetSuite Manufacturing Edition, which is a cloud-based ERP/financial suite for manufacturers, supports light manufacturing as well as more complex operations. To cover a wide range of manufacturing environments, NetSuite currently offers three variations of its NetSuite Manufacturing Edition:  Light, Standard and Advanced manufacturing.

NetSuite Manufacturing Edition can handle multi-level bills of materials and demand planning for more repetitive type operations. This ERP software solution can also support recipe-based process manufacturers that produce in batches and discrete manufacturing. NetSuite Manufacturing Edition is not really suitable for engineer-to-order manufacturing unless it is a very small part of the overall operation. NetSuite is an award-winning company that was founded in 1998, is headquartered in San Mateo, CA and employs more than 1,000 people.
