Microsoft Dynamics SL is a bundle of modules (a generic accounting product) designed to meet the accounting, job cost, project management, and service management needs of construction companies. It includes modules from the Financial Series, Project Series, Service Series, and Distribution Series to provide an enterprise-wide system for middle-market contractors.

Microsoft Dymamics SL is a client-server product built with industry-standard tools such as Visual Basic and Crystal Reports, with Windows 2000/XP or NT as the client, and Windows NT for the server and Microsoft SQL Server for the relational database.

In June of 2000, Solomon Software, Inc was acquired by Great Plains Software. In April of 2001, Great Plains Software was acquired by Microsoft. Solomon IV is now a product line within Microsoft Business Solutions.

Modules included in Solomon construction solution include the Project Series (job cost (project controller), project management (contract management), project budgeting, time and expense for projects, analyzer, communicator and flexible billings). Within the financial series this review covers accounts payable, general ledger, cash management, payroll, advanced payroll and accounts receivable. Also included within this review is the inventory, equipment and purchase order modules. Modules from the Distribution Series in Solomon’s construction solution include inventory and purchase orders.
