Wennsoft Software Overview

WennSoft is a construction management, project management and field service solution that uses Microsoft Dynamics GP as its primary financial base. WennSoft is mainly directed toward specialty contractors using their own labor or subcontractors, although it is also be used by high-transaction, self-performing general contractors. The WennSoft service management functionality is extremely robust and is used by some of the larger U.S.-based construction companies that have dispersed service operations and require remote field entry. The WennSoft customer base includes wastewater treatment contractors and infrastructure contractors such as bridge builders. It is also a potential  solution for  larger ($50M+) specialty contractors like mechanical, plumbing, telecommunications, fire protection, electrical and low voltage contractors with significant service issues or work order needs. WennSoft can handle equipment rental and the required deferred accounting, and the Project Management application is fully featured to support scheduling, document management, workflow and more.

Buyers of Wennsoft typically have very broad requirements and deep pockets for consulting and training. A typical WennSoft system would start at about $80K, plus implementation costs. For smaller companies with lesser budgets, however, WennSoft offers their Business Essentials product for field service and installation. Business Essentials starts at about $35K for 6 users, plus implementation. Contractors are cautioned not to confuse generic Microsoft Dynamics GP by itself as a good solution for contractors, because it isn't. Furthermore, WennSoft should be purchased only through WennSoft since Microsoft Dynamics GP resellers usually lack the expertise to install and support this product properly and rarely have construction industry expertise.
